“Demon Slayer” is a love letter to pop culture.įor many, part of the allure of “Demon Slayer” will be its familiarity: it bears the influence of a host of movies and anime from the last few decades. Nonetheless, the movie is rated R in the United States in large part because of graphic violence, including a lot of bloodshed. Though the movie has many gruesome moments, the overall tone is silly, like a typical cartoon. In Japan, the “Demon Slayer” franchise is part of the “shonen” genre, which literally translates into “few years” because teenagers are the target audience. (Be warned: Each episode is more than 90 minutes long.) And if you are starving for time, plenty of YouTubers have posted videos recapping Season 1 in a few minutes. There’s also a three-episode recap of Season 1 available on Funimation.

If you walk into it blind - without viewing, say, the “Demon Slayer” TV show - you may find yourself confused. But unlike “Spirited Away” and typical box office hits, this film doesn’t stand on its own. On Twitter, fans gushed about it, and, remarkably in a pandemic, many said they would return to the theaters for repeat viewings.Īfter much delay, “Demon Slayer” will finally make a splashy debut in the United States on Friday in 1,500 theaters, including some Imax screens. After shattering box office records when it debuted there last October, “Demon Slayer” has earned more than $400 million in ticket sales, surpassing Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece “ Spirited Away” to become Japan’s highest grossing anime film of all time.

The film, which follows a teenage boy seeking revenge against demons that killed his family, has been one of the most successful movies to ever come out of Japan. Don't watch this horrendous show ever. While Americans hunkered down at home for the last year, theatergoers in other countries were buzzing on social media about an anime movie, “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.” Bring your kids far away from this, and make them watch something like a Nick Jr. Zach Aguilar just wanted people to fall for a trap into satanism. Demon Slayer in general is even targeted towards kids, with the cute cartoony art style and character designs, and even a Happy Meal in Japan. This really makes me want to give up on all faith, hope, and life. The movie Infinity Train's title is stolen DIRECTLY from the Cartoon Network show of the same name, and to make matters worse, it topped the box office on its second week. The two other "main heroes" in this anime is a crazy loon who can't shut up, and a person who uses the head of a boar for a mask, which is also disrespectful to nature and animals. Aguilar's version of Micheal Jackson also turns people, including the main character's sister, into demons from Hell, which is the main reason why this show is so satanic. I would also like to mention the main antagonist of this sadistic and satanic show very closely resembles Micheal Jackson, which is very terrible that Aguilar would mock a brilliant performer with lots of personal problems like this. WHY IS AGUILAR SUCH A SATANIST? And so, the big brother vows to destroy all demons to save his sister, which is very hurtful to the earth. Well, one of his relatives do survive, his little sister. You can tell Aguilar is a sadist already, that young boy could have had some amazing adventures with his family instead of making them get killed by a demon. a young boy who comes back from hunting (which is very disrespectful to the envoirment already, why is that boy so hurtful?) only to find his whole family murdered by a demon. Those were both a disgrace to humanity in their own ways.

Aguilar has developed and directed games in the past like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Genshin Impact. It is not amazing, it is not good, it is not okay, it is not bad. Demon Slayer is an anime directed and written by Zach Aguilar, and animated by Ubisoft. This review will cover not only the movie, but the whole series.
